The ancient methods of orthopedic was very undeveloped and painful for any type of bone problem. In the early age the doctors used wooden splints made of bark wrapped in linen.They also used stiff bandages for support that were probably derived from embalming techniques.At the time the doctors are used bamboo in stead of plaster of paris for plasting.Geeks were use waxes and resins to create stiffend bandage and the Roman used splints and bandages stiffened with starch.Arabian doctors followed lime derived from sea shells and albumen from egg whites to stiffen bandages.And the French surgeon who championed more humane treatments in medicine and promoted the use of artificial limbs made casts of wax, cloth, cardboard that hardened as they dried.
